Abstract

Hamburg in northern Germany is the latest European city — after Madrid and Reykjavik — to start operating a fuel cell bus, with the first of three buses entering regular passenger service. However, while BP’s Aral subsidiary has begun operating a hydrogen fueling station in Hamburg, the hydrogen station that BP wants to install to support London’s fuel cell bus fleet has been knocked back again, forcing it to use an alternative facility to be ready for the buses’ imminent arrival.
