Abstract

The Battle of Hadrianapolis has an important place in Roman history, like many wars in history. However, this war is also different from other wars. The big battles that usually happened in history are of two sides; It also concerns the neighbors of the two sides with a more optimistic view. However, the Hadrianapolis war led to the formation of a whole geography, as well as a radical transformation of the army systems used by the Romans for about seven centuries. It is at least as important to understand the conditions of this important war as it is to understand this war. Examining the conditions before the Battle of Hadrianapolis will mean examining both gothic society and the Roman Empire.
