Abstract

We consider an [Formula: see text]-move between two torus links of type [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]. We give some necessary conditions for two links [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] which are related by a single [Formula: see text]-move. In particular, we show that [Formula: see text] is obtained by a single [Formula: see text]-move from the Hopf link if and only if [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] is obtained by a single [Formula: see text]-move from the trivial 2-component link if and only if [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text],
