Abstract

Abstract A gyration component g11 of ferroelectric Pb5Ge3O11 is measured by a new polarimetric method. The gyrotropy and principal axes rotation are found in the multidomain ferroelectric phase. They are explained within the framework of an inhomogeneous layered structure model by the gyrotropy of enantiomorphous domain layers.
