Abstract

Appearance of multiple Sezawa (M2,2) modes and the related interfacial Stoneley waves at propagation of Lamb wave in a stratified medium containing several layers obeying Wiechert condition is observed. Possible appearance of the multiple high frequency Stoneley and Sezawa modes may have importance in various applications starting from micro and nanomechanics to geophysics along with developing the nondestructive acoustic methods for qualitative and quantitative assessment of the high frequency asymptotics. The analysis is based on Cauchy sextic formalism.
