Abstract

Safe and reliable operation is always a crucial consideration in many important applications of power electronics. Nowadays, the working conditions or mission profiles of power electronics components/systems are becoming intensive and complicated. In order to ensure cost-effectiveness with more confidence in the safety and reliability performances, it is important to understand the loading and failure behaviors, as well as the limits of components/circuits in practical use. Under this scenario, the comprehensive verification and optimization from components up to systems are essential, especially when the power level is increasing and the competition in cost and performance is becoming severe in various applications.
