Abstract

There is a possibility that rotating electric machine may loses its efficiency due to overheating during motion. Therefore, the improvement of heat removal capacity needs to know the internal flow and heat transfer characteristics. The internal structure of throtating machine has a coaxial cylinder consisting of the inner cylinder (rotor) and outer cylinder (stator). This study produced three shape of rotating coaxial cylinder. By performing a visualization using Kalliroscope flakes, the effect of the shape variation on flow characteristics was investigated.
