Abstract

New organic single crystals of pyrene succinate were grown by slow evaporation solution growth method at room temperature. The crystal structure was confirmed by single crystal XRD. Crystalline nature and functional groups present in the crystals were verified by powder XRD and FT-IR analysis. Optical transmission study shows that the crystal is transparent in the entire visible region. Dielectric studies were carried out with respect to temperature and frequency. Grown crystals reveal negative photoconductivity nature. Thermal stability of the compound was analysed by TG/DSC studies. DC conductivity studies were also carried out at different temperatures. Powder second harmonic generation studies were carried out using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.
