Abstract

The present research work was study on the growth performance of Salmophasia bacaila in the biofloc culture system for the period of 28 days from the second week of September to second week of October 2022.The initial weight of fingerlings of the Salmophasia bacaila were 0.667 gm and cultured for 28 days in the experimental tanks at30 fish/tank. The experiment was designed in two tanks, one tank was used as control, while the other tank was used as biofloc treatment tank. The mean value of water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, water hardness, alkalinity in biofloc treatment system were 24.6℃, 7.9, 4.88mg/l, 128.14mg/l and 124.42mg/l respectively. The control set registered the mean value of water temperature 23.5℃, pH 8.6, dissolved oxygen 5.1mg/l, hardness 123.50mg/l& alkalinity 118.66mg/l. The SGR was 1.97observed in biofloc treatment while in control tank the same was1.73. 77% survival rate of fishes were registered in the under biofloc treatment and 73% in the control tank.
