Abstract
A simple vapor deposition process is reported for growing large single crystals of NH 4Cl and ND 4Cl directly in the disordered phase II (125 °C). The ND 4Cl powder used in the preparation of the single crystal was deuterated at 70–80 °C in D 2O. The exchange process was followed by the Raman spectrum of the ammonium ion.
