Abstract
Cuprene is the sticky yellow powder formed by radiolytic polymerization of acetylene. Time-resolved radiolysis has demonstrated that, contrary to traditional assumptions, the individual spherical particles which constitute this powder do not grow by molecular addition to single nuclei, but by agglomeration of many small spherules which are agglutinated by liquid polymer.
