Abstract
Organo-metallic crystals are good non-linear optical materials. The synthesis and characterization of zinc doped bis-thiourea strontium chloride was done using slow solvent evaporation technique at room temperature. The unit cell parameters of grown crystal were found as: a = 9.810Å, b = 10.708 Å and c = 18.070Å, α = β = γ = 90° obtained from the powder XRD pattern. FT-IR spectrum suggested the presence of stretching and bending vibrations for different functional groups present. Thermal stability of the grown crystal was studied by TGA/DTA analysis. From the TGA curve, the crystal was stable up to 190°C. The second harmonic generation efficiency of Nd:YAG laser was found to be 0.987 times that of standard KDP.
