Abstract

A novel type of full-faceted single crystals of triglycine sulfate (TGS) with D-phenylalanine and Pt(IV) complex-forming ions (PATGS/Pt(IV)) were grown from aqueous solutions by means of the slow cooling method. On the samples prepared from ⟨110⟩ and ⟨1 0⟩ growth pyramids we measured the main physical properties, in particular: spontaneous polarization P s , values of coercive field E c , internal electrical field E b , dielectric permittivity ϵ r , dielectric losses tanδ, domain structure and hysteresis loops. We found that the prepared Pt-doped crystals possess reproducible physical properties, structural homogeneity and low internal strain. The value of E b is in the region of 130 to 250 kV/m. The prepared crystals can be used for preparation of infrared detectors.
