Abstract

Abstract Single crystals of L-Lysine Monohydrochloride Dihydrate (LMHCl) were successfully grown by the solution growth slow evaporation method at an ambient temperature. Single crystal X-Ray diffractometer was utilized to measure the lattice parameters and to confirm the crystal system. The functional groups presents in the grown crystal were identified by the FTIR spectral analysis. The optical absorption studies conform the lower cut off wavelength of the grown crystal has been identified by UV–Vis studies. The optical absorption studies show that the material has wide optical transparency in the entire visible region and the cut off length is found to be at 250 nm. The thermal analysis studies indicate that the material possess optimum thermal stability
