Abstract
ABSTRACTIn this letter, we propose a technique to monitor the group velocity dispersion analyzing a quadrature phase‐shift keying modulated optical signal. The method is based on the analysis of the direct detection electrical signal power, measured at the clock frequency, being able to return the dispersion magnitude value and sign. The proposed method was tested for 20 Gb/s signal in a dispersion range of [−600,600] ps/nm. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 56:2078–2080, 2014
