Abstract
In this paper, a fixed-frequency beam-scanning leaky wave antenna (LWA) based on groove gap waveguide (GGW) technology is presented. The whole structure can be divided into GGW and radiating units. The radiating units are composed of 67 slot-coupled patch antennas, and the working state of each patch antenna is controlled by a PIN diode. A periodic reconfigurable method is adopted to realize the fixed frequency beam scanning characteristics of the antenna. Through full-wave simulation, it is found that the proposed GGW L W A can achieve beam scanning of -21 °~29° at 22 GHz.
