Abstract
This article is based on surveying the current operating status of equipment/facilities at seaports in Ho Chi Minh City, the amount of fuel/energy consumed, along with the study of experiences in some countries in the region to assess the opportunity/potential to reduce GHG emissions when replacing with low emission equipment. Calculation results of GHG emission reductions when using electric gantry cranes (RTGs), LED lighting systems on the yard or installing solar panels together with the Measurement - Reporting - Verification (MRV) to monitor and evaluate GHG emission reductions for the seaport sector is presented at the end of the article.
