Abstract
Abstract The present study reports the antimicrobial and anticancer activities of green synthesized calcium oxide nanoparticles. The antimicrobial activity was assessed by agar well diffusion method. Maximum activity was observed for E. coli and minimum for S. mutans. The anticancer activity was determined by MTT assay against the cell line A549. The IC50 value of nano CaO was found to be 92.08 µg/mL. The experimental results suggest the applicability of synthesized CaO NPs as potential antibacterial and anticancer agents.
