Abstract

Abstract This test was conducted at Nebraska Agric. Exp. Sta. Field Laboratory, Mead, NE in grain sorghum planted Jun 4. Plots were 3 rows, 9.15 m long. Plots were separated by 2 untreated buffer rows to minimize spray drift between treatments. Treatments were^repl icated 3 times in a randomized complete block design. Sprays were applied by a bicycle-wheeled plot sprayer at 2.109 kg/cm2 and 246.8 1/ha through a boom filtered with 1 top nozzle and 2 drop nozzles/row. The liquids were propelled with pressurized CO2. Sprays were applied Aug 4 at which time plants were in the boot stage. The efficacy of each insecticide was evaluated by counting live greenbugs on each of 5 plants selected at random from the center row of each plot at 1, 6, and 14 days post treatments. Rainfall during the sampling period was measurable on Aug 9 (1.0 in), Aug 10 (3.20 in), Aug 12 (0.20 in), Aug 13 (2.60 in), and Aug 14 (0.40 in).
