Abstract

In this report, green synthesis of silver nanoparticles was achieved by using Fritillaria flower plant extract as the reducing, stabilizing and capping agent in the aqueous phase, under non-photo mediated conditions. The successful nanoparticle formation was monitored by UV–Vis spectrophotometer through color conversion due to surface plasma resonance bands at 430 nm. Further, characterization was performed using Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), XRD and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). SEM and TEM images revealed that Ag NPs@Fritillaria are being spherical in shape with an average diameter of the particle size of 10 nm, at 2 h interaction time. According to the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) authorized the presence of bio interactive functional groups such as hydroxyl, amid and carbonyl groups played an important reduction role in the synthesis process. In addition, antibacterial properties of Ag NPs@Fritillaria, Fritillaria, and AgNPs were studied. Agar disk and agar well diffusion are the methods to determined antibacterial properties of synthesized Ag NP. Also MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) and MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration) were recognized by macro broth dilution assay.
