Abstract

Green's function methods are used to study H-polarized electromagnetic single site and waveguide impurity modes in two-dimensional photonic crystals. Modes for impurities formed of frequency independent, frequency dependent, and nonlinear dielectric media are treated. Results for H- and E-polarized modes are compared and contrasted.
