Abstract

Pulsed phase conjugate reflectivities of a signal in excess of 500% are achieved in a single BaTiO 3 crystal using a four-wave mixing configuration in which the same crystal produces self-pumped phase conjugation to generate the counterpropagating pump. A physical explanation is given to describe the angular dependence of the experimentally observed phase conjugate reflectivity.
