Abstract

Gray hole attack gets trickier, when only certain node’s packets are dropped intentionally, termed as the Selective Gray Hole Attack (SGHA). The literature so far has focused on the attack carried out on random packets, without any particular criterion. SGHA has enough potential to disrupt the communication of a particular node with the outside world or confine the communication of a network within itself. This could be detrimental in military reconnaissance applications, disaster warning systems, autonomous cars, e-health systems, home automation, etc. Hence, we propose a Quality of Service (QoS) aware algorithm to detect and mitigate such attacks, performed by a rational adversary.
