Abstract

By means of the virial theorem, it has been proved that, in the flat space-time, compact systems of insular type, consisting of the electrically charged matter and electromagnetic field, with the positive energy of electromagnetic field do not exist. Compactification condition of such systems in the pseudo-Riemann space of general relativity has been obtained. The compact state of the electrically charged objects of wormhole type, satisfying the given condition, has been obtained by means of the exact particular solution to Einstein’s and Maxwell’s equations for the spherically-symmetric, electrically charged dust. It has been geometrized completely, that is, all its physical characteristics have been expressed in terms of the space-time metric. It indicates that the cause of existence of the compact electrodynamic objects of wormhole type is the focusing action of the space-time curvature, i.e., gravitational field. The given conclusion can be applied to any compact objects, for example, elemantary particles, atomic nuclei, pinch plasmoids, universities etc.
