Abstract

Abstract The problem of estimating the separation characteristics, including mass yield, partition curve, cut point (dp ) probable error (Ep and error area (Ap ) from mass distributions of feed and products is considered. A graphical technique previously proposed is modified and extended to estimate the separation characteristics. It is demonstrated that the mass distributions of feed and products could be used to estimate the separation characteristics of the separator. Two-product and three-product separation cases are considered. The proposed techniques can handle both density and sin separation. Actual data are utilized to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.
