Abstract

Graphdiyne (GDY), an emerging carbon allotrope, features the coexistence of sp and sp2 hybridized carbon atoms in a 2D planar structure. It has attracted much attention for its extraordinary intrinsic structure and property, as well as wide application potential in variety of research fields. After an introduction to the fundamental properties of GDY including electrical property, optical property and mechanical property, this work focuses on the summary of its sensing and biosensing application. With great conductivity, large surface area, biocompatibility, narrow bandgap and high elasticity, GDY possesses distinctive analytical performance in electrical and optical sensors. Furthermore, the perspective on promising research direction and remaining barrier in GDY based sensors has been comprehensively demonstrated at the end of this work. The underlying aim of this review is to inspire scientists and engineers to devote in the analytical research based on GDY.
