Abstract
In an effort to stimulate an interchange among professionals concerned with graduate training in the “specialty” of Learning Disabilities, (1) a number of basic issues currently confronting training programs are reviewed and explored and (2) an experience-based analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of current programs is offered. The exploration of issues includes (a) a discussion of the need to determine the prerequistie skills required for success in a training program, (b) a proposal regarding program content and process, and (c) a view as to the appropriate direction for program evaluation at this time.
