Abstract

Gorham-Stout disease (GSD) or "Vanishing/Phantom bone disease” is an extremely rare and poorly understood disorder which consist of lymphatic proliferation and osteolysis. The disease has been described as early as from the 1838. It was not until 1954 when Dr. Gorham and Dr. Stout explained GSD. The aetiology of GSD is not well understood with no concrete evidence of genetic or environmental causes. GSD has also shown no obvious race or age predilection. Unfortunately there is not preventive treatment for GDS patient. Management of GSD are focused on palliative care.
