Abstract

This article attempts to analyze the genealogy proposed by Michel Foucault about the problem of the links amongst government, freedom and truth, inte nded as the truth of the self, in the framework of Angloamerican liberal and neoliberal governmental rationality. Through the development of theoretical debates and political practices related to liberalism and neoliberalism, we try to show how the subjectivation technologies produce a subject fitting the governmental strategy forged according to the market logic acting as a mechanism of veridiction and to the competition as a practice inherent to social coexistence in late capitalism.
