Abstract

Humidity measurement is one of the most critical issues in various applications, especially in microelectronics and evacuated systems like Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIPs). The life and performance of various systems are highly affected by the initiated moisture. Thus, developing smart structures capable of identifying slight moisture contents at an initial stage is considered essential for structural health monitoring of VIPs. Here, functional behavior of Graphene Oxide (GO) based humidity sensors were studied for moisture sensing application in VIPs. High dynamic sensing response with an admirable response time of a few hundred seconds and high linearity of (∼0.97) was reported. The presented results are of high interest and will lay a foundation for the outset of future wireless smart structures capable of detecting minimal moisture in evacuated products like VIPs, even during their service life.
