Abstract
Golbasi (Isparta) arsenic mineralization takes place within the Eosen aged flysch units. The mineralization was emplaced into stockwork veinlets and fault zones related with neotectonic events. In this study, hydrogeochemical characteristics of waters in Golbasi arsenic mineralizations and environs were investigated. From surface and groundwaters in the investigated area were collected sampling and performed hydrogeochemical analysis. Water samples in terms of measured parameters are compatible with standard values. Only mineral water and surface water samples sulfate concentrations were determined that exceeds the tolerance limits (250 mg/l). While groundwater samples were classified as I. type quality waters, mineral and surface waters in terms of SO4contents were classified as IV. type quality waters. Groundwaters were classified as drinkable quality waters and can be considered as Ca-Mg-HCO3 type waters and it were determined that the appropriate water for irrigation. Surface waters can be considered as Mg-Ca-SO4 type waters and poor-medium quality waters due to the high Ca, Mg and SO4 contents and EC values. Surface waters were determined that unsuitable water for irrigation. Arsenic in waters taken from the study area not determined. In these waters are thought to be the absence of arsenic due to the shallow depth of wells drilled in alluvium and that feeding from surface waters
