Abstract

The frequency ratio (FR) and Shannon entropy (SE) two bivariate models are used to produce LSM for CHA, Bangladesh, and a comparison is established between the two models through validation. A landslide inventory map of CHA with 730 landslides was randomly dispersed into the testing dataset, with 70% (511 landslides) used for modeling and 30% (219 landslides) used for validation processes. The LSM shows that very high LS, high LS, moderate LS, low LS, and very low LS regions. The validity of the two methods was determined using the receiver operating characteristic curve and the area under the curve. The AUC for the success rate curve findings is 0.8437 for FR and 0.7962 for SE. Furthermore, the prediction rate curve accuracy for FR was 0.8364, whereas it was 0.8324 for SE. In calculating the LSM in the study region, the FR model is the more accurate of the two models.
