Abstract
Summary The following is a report of six patients with congenital gigantism of the foot. Three patients exhibit a local augmentation of soft tissue of the plantar foot with changes in static and function. Two of them underwent surgery with complete physiologic reconstruction. The third patient is still being treated with conservative measures. Underlying the local gigantism in one of the patients is a fibro-lipomatose differentiation of the soft tissue; this was corrected by a wedge excision. A further two patients with a so called “proteus syndrome” are presented. They are also being treated with conservative measures.
