Abstract
We have designed a unit cell employing only a single sheet of graphene ribbons with an asymmetric geometry leading to the Faraday rotation (FR) up to 24 degree. Asymmetric geometry boosts plasmonic coupling between arrays as well as increasing transmission through structure. Placing a single layer of graphene with a glass dielectric on the structure results in enhancing FR more than 21%. This design opens up a way in ultrathin magneto-optical nanophotonic devices to realize polarization rotators such as isolator, circulator, modulator, etc.
