Abstract

When reflecting on the international work of the German political foundations in general and with a special focus on Israel, 10 points seem to be crucial. As Israel is experiencing less multilateral diplomacy and cooperation, the greatest value German political foundations in Israel can add is the opportunity to interact and cooperate with foreign partners. Another issue to point out is that the bilateral work of the foundations in conflict regions like the Middle East can create even more tension. A third point is that the foundations are substantial partners and not just funders. Their international work is also appreciated by German parliamentary members as politically ‘colour-free’ and highly professional.
