Abstract

German political foundations are a widely-discussed subject, especially because of their complex structure. Even though the federal constitutional court has dealt several times with questions regarding the legal framework of the foundations and their financing practice, they are still not included in the German constitution or the German party law. Considering the broad attention, the foundation nowadays command abroad, this article reflects the different court judgements pertaining to the foundations as well as the current debate in Germany regarding their legal framework.
