Abstract
The author, based on the legal-dogmatic method and the analysis of the constitutional practice, presents the amendments I of the Constitution and legislation of Ukraine from the point of view of the constitutional position of the President as the guarantor of state security. Author, based on it, proposes a new periodization of the last several decades of Ukrainian constitutionalism.
