Abstract

Geometrical scaling (GS) of the inelastic overlap function and GS of the imaginary part of the elastic nonflip amplitude are discussed and their consequences are compared. Since the corresponding real part does not scale both types of GS are not equivalent. It is shown that the energy dependences of the slope parameters and of the total cross sections for pp, p̄p, πp and Kp scattering are compatible with GS of the overlap functions.
