Abstract

The granites of the Chityala region, which is close to Hyderabad, have been chosen for an organised research. Granites are the subject of petrographic research, which also include modal analysis. These investigations suggest that the subsequent petrogenetic processes have entirely destroyed the original magmatic structures. Furthermore, perthite and myrmekite frequently exhibit replacement structures and textural intergrowth. Six representative granite samples were examined for trace elements and seventeen representative granite samples were subjected to major elemental analysis. The data collected and shown in various binary and ternary diagrams allow for the observation of trends in the major oxides and trace elements. Geochemical variation graphs for the granites in the analysed area do not show any clear origin.
