Abstract
HE first half of the present century has witnessed the extensive development of the principles of genetics. The formulation of these principles was brought about largely through careful laboratory analyses. Only recently has careful attention been given to the study of human genetics. As that study has progressed, it has become apparent that there are important differences between the genetic analysis of human populations and the genetic analysis of laboratory animals.
