Abstract

Endometriosis is a common benign alteration characterized by endometrial tissue found outside the uterine cavity. The diagnosis is initially carried out with the patient clinical history, although the disease stage is surgically obtained by laparoscopy and the final diagnosis is given by the lesion histopathological analysis. Due to the complexity of the disease and the low specificity of the non-invasive exams available, the search for molecular markers is of extreme importance for this diagnosis.
