Abstract

The excitation of a slow electromagnetic wave by a high-current relativistic electron beam (IREB) at its transportation in an external periodic magnetic field is theoretically investigated. Expressions for amplitude of a longitudinal electric field are obtained, its dependences on parameters of electron beam (depth spatial and temporal modulation, period of modulation) is investigated. The radial structure of an electromagnetic field of a slow wave and possibility of acceleration of ions in a field of an excited slow wave are parsed.
