Abstract

We report on high-power supercontinuum (SC) generation using a fan-out periodically poled lithium niobite (PPLN) with controllable chirp rate. Ultra-broadband parametric down-conversion processes are fulfilled by chirped quasi-phase matching. Simultaneously, the high intensity pump pulses naturally ignite various cubic nonlinear processes, such as self-phase modulation (SPM) and cross-phase modulation (XPM), which synergically act with the quadratic nonlinear process, to generate high-power multi-octave SC spanning from 650 to 3900 nm.
