Abstract

Nonlinear interaction of a high-frequency short electromagnetic wave packet with a background magnetized electron plasma is considered. The possibility of excitation of both the low-frequency electrostatic potential and magnetic field fluctuations by the electromagnetic radiation pressure is demonstrated. The enhanced fluctuations can influence the propagation of the electromagnetic wave packet as well as the electron transport properties.
