Abstract

Summary form only given. The paper presents updated results of the experiment on the application of the high power discharge for generating intense plasma flows with translational energies in the keV range. Specifically, it deals with generation of the two counter-streaming deuterium plasma flows with the average density of 1015 cm -3, accelerated in the EtimesB fields. The flows propagate with average speed of ~5times107 cm/s across 1 T B-field and collide in the zone of interaction. The process of interaction features a quasi-periodical character in time. The spectral characteristics of the ions and electrons leaving the zone of interaction along the B-lines are measured. The neutron and soft gamma emissions from the colliding plasma flows were recorded. Based on magnetic and other probe measurements the estimates of the geometric dimensions of the interaction zone were made. Analysis of the kinetic and electric polarization energies delivered to the interaction zone was done and will be presented
