Abstract

The strong correlation in CuO based superconductors may prevent pairing of real electrons in the planes, in particular, for small density of holes. It is suggested, based on some simple arguments, that a generalized ‘pairing’ involving certain number of singlet pairs and holes may take place in this system. This leads to some interesting commensurability effects even in the absence of chiral symmetry breaking and makes the [Formula: see text] filled t-J model and Large U Ilubbard filled t-J model and Large U Ilubbard model special having enhanced pairing correlation and large gain in the kinetic energy.
