Abstract

This note examines what effects parameter estimates in a simple AR(1) model have on the relative performances of the Dufour-Roy (1986) and Ljung-Box (1978) statistics. The power tests indicate that there is no major gain by using the Dufour-Roy statistics as tests of model adequacy if the underlying model is a general ARMA ( p,q) model.
