Abstract

A general transformation function F(λ) from S10 (λ) to RA or nl is obtained, by using three equations published by Lienert et al. (1995). Massey et al. (1990) and Garstang (1986), which are converting the sky brightness from S10 (κ) units, R/A and nl to mag/sec2. The transformation function is inversely proportion to wavelength: i.e. it takes the form F(λ) =f λ-1. The coefficient f is found to be equal 23.23 for all wavelengths. A set of different values of F(λ) is obtained for the different wavelengths. The present value of F(λ) at λ = 5300 A confirms, the value obtained by Roach (1973) at the same wavelength.
