Abstract

AbstractThe conventional iterative scheme used in previous chapters works well in finding the steady-state solution of the Boltzmann equation when the Knudsen number is large. However, it becomes inefficient and inaccurate when the Knudsen number is small. The general synthetic iterative scheme is proposed to fix these problems, with the properties of fast convergence, asymptotic preserving, and universality.
