Abstract

Yalvac is one of the most significant cultural heritages of Turkey and the world with its traditional lifestyle and natural beauties and historical monuments, organic streeets, traditional houses which are exapmles of civilian unique architecture. Yalvac, a district of Isparta in the Mediterranean region, became a member of the International Cittaslow Union in 2012. In Yalvac residential, there are existing traditional wooden houses that are important exapmles of the countryside architecture of Ottomans. In the historical tissue, relay studies were made and determinations were made. Investigations were conducted with observations and determinations based on field research. Traditional Yalvac houses are very well preserved regionally. As a construction technique, they were produced with mudbrick masonry on a stone foundation. The walls were reinforced with wooden elements and Wood was again used in the flooring. Within the scope of the study, the traditional construction techniques and materials of the traditional civil architecture examples in the historical texture were introduced and put forward by introducing (local techniques). The physical chemical and mechanical methods of the original building materials such as special plaster, mortar, stone, brick, wood and metal were determined as non-destructive as possible. This study aims to examine that traditional wooden house system in Yalvac.
